What is special about Complete Macro Photography Workshop?

The 2 days workshop on Macro Photography and Post-Production Techniques is a comprehensive learning experience for exploring the tiny world.
The workshop comprises of four distinct parts for understanding Macro and the equipment , the DIY session to prepare some of the commonly required accessories for taking professional macro photographs, doing macro photography for both nature and non-nature objects and lastly the sessions for effective post-production techniques.

Macro photography is all about exploring the tiny world of life or objects that we do not see with normal eyes. Macros tend to produce scintillating and fascinating effects and often gives great insight of details.
As with any other form of photography, understanding light and using it correctly can make unimaginable difference in the photographs.

The workshop includes training on understanding ambient light, techniques of effective blending of ambient and flashlight, using bounce effects and many other interesting techniques for creating intriguing macro photographs.

WORKSHOP REQUIREMENTS:

  • Camera
  • Macro lens / Extension Tubes / Macro Attachment like Raynox
  • Tripod
  • Camera beanbag or similar handy support
  • Flashgun (either on-body Flash or external Flash)
  • Laptop for the postproduction session

COMPLETE MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP STRUCTURE:

Day 1
8:30AM to 10:00AM Session 01 Macro Photography : Basics and knowing equipment
10:00AM to 10:30AM Tea Break
10:30AM to 12:30PM DIY Session for preparing your own accessories (soft boxes)
Demonstration of preparing DIY Macro rails *
12:30PM to 1:30PM Lunch Break
1:30PM to 5:30PM Session 02
  • Understanding Light and Light Blending Techniques
  • Practicing on non-nature macros
  • Macro Patterns / textures and light effects
Day 2
9:30AM to 1:00PM Session 03
  • Practicing out-door nature macro photography
1:00PM to 2:00PM Lunch Break
2:00PM to 5:30PM Session 04
  • Post-processing techniques

Fees:

Rs. 6,500/-
Fees inclusive of Flash Diffuser DIY Kit, Tea / Coffee and Lunch on Day 1 and afternoon Tea on Day 2.

DIY Kits :

Sheil’s Photography will provide all participants with ONE set of material for building diffuser soft box for macro photography.
Sheil’s Photography will also provide all participants with ONE white tabletop reflector folder.
DIY kit for building soft macro rails will have to be purchased by the participants.
For building extension tubes, participants will need to bring the required material with them. Sheil’s Photography will not provide any material for the same. The list of material can be enquired through email to workshops@sheilphoto.com.
